SPP JOINS THE CITIES AND TOWNS FOR FAIR TRADE CAMPAIGN
In addition to participating in the Latin American Universities for Fair Trade (Universidades Latinoamericanas por un Comercio Justo) campaign, the Small Producers’ Symbol (SPP) has now actively joined the “Latin American Cities and Towns for Fair Trade” campaign.
“In Latin America the three large fair trade networks (CLAC, WFTO-LA and SPP) thus unite efforts to promote a movement in all the countries in the hemisphere. Beyond the different approaches and the different productive and commercial models that characterize these fair trade networks, the three have initiated collaborative work to have an impact in the region, build a movement here, too, involving society, public and private institutions, young people and the future generations of our Latin American countries.” Source: http://ciudades-comerciojusto.org/together-we-can-better-advocate-for-fair-trade/
So far, the cities that have joined the campaign are: Poços de Caldas, Río de Janeiro and Boa Esperança, in Brazil; Cantón de Pérez Zeledón, in Costa Rica; and Quito and Riobamba, in Ecuador.
